Overall, there was an increase in the proportion of the use of renewable energy examined in 5 countries, meanwhile there was a decline in Finland. Despite that, Finland consistently had the highest figures over the period.
There were the fluctuations between the figures of Finland, Denmark and United States. The amount of United States started at 3% (almost the lowest figures), after which it witnessed a sharp growth up to 18%(the second place of the chart) at the end of the period. Despite of the fluctuations, the percentage of Denmark sustainable hold the second place until 2006, and stayed in the third place – roughly 17% in 2011. The proportion of the use of renewable energy in Finland reached a peak of almost 25% from the start, but it later dropped slightly to 23% in the last year of the period.
The figures for United Kingdom, Germany and France have the quite stability similar patterns, slightly grow but it is not enough to change their positions in the whole graph. The lowest figures over the period is United Kingdom which it started at only 1% in 1971 and raised up to roughly 6% at the end. While 5% and 8% respectively was the amount of Germany and France at start and end with 14% for Germany and France was 15%.
