The illustration displays the emergency evacuation plan of the Gillespie Neuroscience Research Facility.
Illustration consists of the facility basement’s floorplan, a description of the meaning of symbols used in the picture and arrows that are supposed to represent the direction which people should follow in case of an emergency.
It can be seen that the map represents 3 routes that a person must take should there be fire. The illustration also presents the number which one should call to reach the fire department.
When situated in the west side of the building, one must remember not to use the elevator for their exit from the facility. A person can choose whether to escape via the second staircase that’s located near the elevator, or to escape through the northern doors, but if both routes seem inaccessible – one should go to the first staircase which is located in the eastern part of the basement.
