Above are two maps comparing the layout of the same cinema in 1980 and present day. The changes in the design, function and aesthetic of the cinema can be interpreted deeply beyond visual appeal, but instead reflecting the growing desire of film and cinematography in society.
There are many key differences between the two venues. One distinct change is the increasing number of showrooms in comparison to 1980. While the older cinema featured only 2 rooms, the modernized space features 5. Another noticeable difference is the increased amenities in the refurbished venue, featuring facilities such as a DVD shop and a relaxation room. Although it is clearly evident that the newer cinema is far superior and provides movie enthusiasts a more immersive and upgraded experience, there is one unfortunate disadvantage to the renovated design. The removal of the parking space not only will negatively impact the experiences’ convenience, but also discourage visitors and cause them to search for alternatives.
Overall though, the newer venue undisputedly outranks the older one in every single aspect, yet the abolishment of the car park can not be neglected as it is a necessary ammenity in any entertainment attraction.
