As regards, household usage, gardens were the most water-intensive, reaching 28%, closely followed by bathrooms at 27%. Washing clothes also represented a significant proportion, standing at 20%. In contrast, toilets and kitchens consumed much smaller quantities, at 15% and 10% respectively, with the kitchen clearly being the least demanding area of water usage.
