The two pie charts illustrate the breakdown of five energy productionnamely, coal, gas, petrol, nuclearand other in France in 1995 and 2005.
Overall, nuclear power experienced significant growth in its share, the proportion of Petroleum went down markedly. Additionally, gas and coal remained dominant energy sources throughout the period.
In 1995, coal and gas contributed approximately 29% to the total energy output, with figure of 29.80% and 29.63%, respectively. Moreover, petroleum was slightly lower to contribute its output with other two energy sources namely coal and gas and was 29.27%. By contrast, nuclear power gained 6.40% at that time. The proportion of other energy sources contributed the smallest output which was 4.90%.
In 2005, nuclear power escalated to 10.10% and had risen by 3.7% in that period. By contrast, petroleum declined dramatically 10% and was accounted 19.55%, meanwhile, coal and gas remained stable and gained slightly increase to 30.93% and 30.31%, and lastly, other energy source gained 5% increase notably and was accounted 9.10% of total energy production in France in 2005.
