According to the pie charts, gas was the most common fuel used in the UK in both 2014 and 2018, accounting for 30.1%. Conversely, oil and other energy sources standing as the least popular fuels in both years, representing 4%.
The amount of energy generating by alternative energy rose to 26.2% in 2018 from 15% by 2014 and this was the most significant change compared with others. On the other hand, coal and nuclear power stand as the second and third most utilized energy in 2014 with 28.4% and 22.5 % respectively, whereas in 2018, the proportion of power producing by coal sharply down to 18.1% and nuclear power also decreased to 21.6%.
