Overall, agriculture accounted for the largest share of water consumption in North Africa, followed by domestic.It is notable that other sectors represented considerable smaller proportions
In terms of the leading categories,agriculture accounted for the largest share at 36% , making it the single biggest consumer of water in the region.This was followed by domestic, which use made up the second largest share,at about a third.Together agriculture and domestic use represented over two-thirds of all water consumption in North Africa,at a combined 69%
In contrast to the two largest sectors,industry made up 19% of the total water consumption,which is nearly one-fifth.Meanwhile, tourism and other accounted for negligible shares,at 8% and 4% respectively making them by far the smallest sectors.Together, these three minor sectors represented less than a third of water use in North Africa
