Overall, rentals were very expensive and many students got their income from student loans.
The highest monthly expenditure compared to all other expenses was rent, and the rentals costs were 385 pounds. The second highest was food whereby they spent 124 pounds per month, Other and bills were the third and fourth most expensive items. The prices were 91 pounds and 64 pounds respectively. Travel was the cheapest expense compared to all other five expenses, the costs were 52 pounds per month.
Around 82 percent of the students got money from student loans, and that was the highest source of income for most of the students. The second and third positions for source of income was family and part time jobs, which was around 65 percent and 64 percent respectively. The least source of income was grants and funding, which was slightly above 40 percent.
