The data presented in these two charts depicts how much money students in the UK spent on various categories in a month and the source of their entrances.
The largest expense of the month was rent, which took up almost half of the total and the main source of income was their student loan.
The total spent by students in the whole month added up to 860 pounds, most of which where dedicated to housing, such as rent and bills, which costed 450 pounds. Food was the second-largest category for a total of 124 pounds, while other groups of expenses together made up the last quarter of the total.
For what concerns entrances, student loan was the most prevalent and used by around 80% of the total, followed by family and part-time jobs that tied at second place with a percentage of around 70%. The other three sources, namely savings, bank overdraft and grants and fundings were used by a similar percentage of students, around 40%. Notice how the total does not add up to 100%, signifying that many students had more than one source of income.
