At a glance, we can see that half of the expenses of an English student are related to Rent, with a median value of about £385. However, housing expenditure also consists of bills. Overall, more than half of students’ expenses are related to housing and accommodations, and they spent a total of more than £400. In addition, food and socialising cover more than 20% of total expenses. In particular, a student needs £188 each month to go out and socialize.
The vast majority of students, 80%, have used student loans as a source of income. Generally, more than half of the students are helped by their family or start work. Finally, less than 40% of students use fundings that come from bank accounts or savings.
