The charts reveal the proportion of criminals arrested in an area between 1989 and 1994 and the latest crimes for which they were put behind bars.
At a comprehensive glance, it is observed that almost one-third of the male criminals were arrested, whereas, less than one-fourth of female perpetrators were imprisoned. However, public drinking, the most popular reason for arrest in recent times, saw females outnumbering their counterparts.
To continue with, a whopping 91% of female lawbreakers were left in the open in the given period. The crime that saw the most female arrests was public drinking, with almost 40% of offenders, followed by assault which saw about 20%. Furthermore, drunk driving cases and those other than the primary ones had 15% of arrested women in each.
On the other hand, 32% of male wrongdoers found themselves in jail. Similar to their counterparts, public drinking was the most popular reason for arrest in this cohort, with over 30% of arrests being of men. Cases in which no answer has been given yet saw the least number of male arrests, just like in the case of women offenders.
