The two pie charts compare the proportion of energy production in a European nation over a ten-year period starting from 1995.
Overall, a general upward trend was recorded for most categories throughout the given period, except from petrol which showed a significant decline. In addition, although unspecified energies represented the most dramatic growth, Coal remained the dominant energy.
Looking at the statistics, Coal made up 29.80% of total production in 1995, making it the leading type of energy among all categories, and then ended at a slightly higher point in 2005. Gas accounted for 29.63% in 1995 before increasing to 30.31% at the end of the period.
Regarding the remaining types of energy, the highest growth was seen in the figure for unclassified energies, rising from below 5% all the way up to 9.1%. By comparison, Nuclear registered a moderately lower rise, climbing from 6.4% to around 10% over a decade. A different pattern was observed for petrol, dropping considerably from the initial figure of 29.27% to just 19.55% in 2015.
