Overall, the two pie charts illustrate the distribution of energy production in France over a 10-year period. It is evident that coal and gas remained the dominant energy sources in both 1995 and 2005, while nuclear power and other alternative sources accounted for a smaller share. Notably, the contribution of the latter categories almost doubled over the period.
Although there were only minor fluctuations in most categories, petrol was the only energy source that experienced a decline, falling by approximately 10%. In contrast, gas consumption remained relatively stable, increasing marginally by less than 1%. A similar pattern can be observed in coal usage, which rose slightly by around 1%.
By comparison, nuclear energy showed a marked increase, rising from 6.4% to 10.1%. Likewise, the share of other energy sources also grew significantly, from 4.9% to 9.1%.
In summary, while the overall structure of energy production remained fairly stable, there were notable shifts within individual categories. The most significant change was the decline in petrol consumption over the period.
