To begin with, the overall population of humans have grown from 1.6 billion to 6 million over the century. Regarding proportions of different continents, there is no tremendous difference. It is important to note, that Middle East and North Africa region hosts 6 percent of the worlds population in 2000’s, while there was no such region mentioned in 1900. It is likely, that Arab world was included as a separate piece in a pie chart later on, deducting the numbers from Asia.
Finally, Africa and Latin America really faced a bigger habitational leep throughout the century. Population in both of these regions has more than doubled in the context of the rest of the world.
