Overall, there was an increase in the world’s population, with the dominant figures for Asia Pacific, Europe and Africa over the period. In addition, the emerging Middle East and North Africa contributed to the planet a significant number of citizens.
The amount of people in the previous Asia Pacific started at 60% in 1900, after which it experienced a decrease to 54%, including former Soviet Asia, in the next century. Furthermore, the figure for Europe, consisting of Russia, saw a similar pattern, which began with 25 percent of residents in the world and then followed by a drop to almost a half. Conversely, only 4% of people inhabited Africa in 1900, but later grew to 10% at the end of the period.
The share of Latin America and Caribbean witnessed a remarkable increase from 3% to 8% at final. Besides, there was an appearance of new areas located in the Middle East and North Africa, which accounted for 6% in the early 21st. However, North America and the other regions remained a stable amount, 5% and 3% respectively.
