In general, there will be an upward trend in the percentage of most energy resources, while an opposite trend will be seen in coal energy, and other energy sources are expected to remain unchanged over the years. Besides, solar energy is predicted to be replaced by geothermal energy.
More specifically, in 2008, coal energy experienced the highest figure, at 39%, followed by oil energy with 32.5%, which was double the percentage of gas energy. Additionally, this proportion is predicted to experience a significant decrease to 22.3% and will be surpassed by the oil energy at 35.5%.
Meanwhile, renewable sources witnessed the lowest percentage in 2008 and in 2030. There will be a triple increase to 0,9%, 0,7% in 2030 in the portion of wind and hydro energy, respectively. In addition, solar energy recorded 0,8% in 2008, before being replaced by geothermal energy in 2030, with 4.3%.
