Overall, it is clear that United Kingdom and Sweden heavily relies on burial, while the Republic of Korea predominantly deals with waste through recycling. It is also clear that, UK uses a wider range of utilization methods compared to Republic of Korea and Sweden which uses only three methods.
In the UK and Sweden the majority of waste is buried, amounting 82% and 55% respectively, while in the Republic of Korea the percentage is considerably lower: 22%. The proportion of incineration is higher in Sweden amounting 20%, as opposed to the Republic of Korea with 9% and the UK 2%. Recycling is more popular in Korea amounting 69%, than that of Sweden 25%. In addition, the United Kingdom uses marine dumping and chemical treatment in waste disposal 8% each.
