Overall, it can be seen that housing accounted for the most spending in 1950 whereas food was the most spent item in 2010. Households spent least on healthcare in both of the years. The spending habits changed very much in the years form spending on housing to most on food.
In 1950 allocated most of their income towards housing (72%) followed by food (11.2%) whereas the highest proportion in 2010 was for food (34%) and 22.0% for housing. it can been seen that there was a drastic decrease in the expenditure on housing between the years and an increase on food.
Travelling and other expenses quadrupled in the years to 14.0% and 19.2% respectively. Education spending remained almost the same in both the years while it doubled for Healthcare to 4.5%.
