The pie charts display the proportion of five categories of energy usage in the UK between 2000 and 2010.
Overall, it is remarkable that coal was the most utilized energy, accompanied closely by gas during the period stated in question. Meanwhile, other types of energy were the least used with notable distinction from the two categories previously mentioned.
It can be seen that in 2000, UK residents had the highest energy demand on coal, gas and petrol, accounting for approximately 29.0% to 30.0%. As a result, that majority placed a notable gap between the less utilized energy, which were solar and others, occupying 6.5% and 5.0%, respectively.
In 2010, coal and gas consumption continuously remained at its high rate at 30%. However, there was a significant shift in the trend of minor used energy. It is observed that petrol usage faced a decline, dropping by 9% from the prior year. On the contrary, solar and other energy sources received a gradual increasing demand, both growing by around 4%.
