The charts illustrate the types of devices used for watching TV in Canada by people aged between 18 to 25 in the years 2009 and 2019.
Overall, a significant changes experienced conventional television as a device for consuming news, and flat-screen TV. However, the percentage of users of the former one decreased dramatically, and increased for the latter one.
As it can be seen from the pie charts, devices for watching news, such as telephones, flat-screen TV’s and tablets increased, in terms of number of their users. The number of people who use a mobile phone and whose age are between 18 and 25 increased in 2019, up to 26%, whereas, in 2009 it was only 15%. Flat-screen TV’s also became more demanded among people, 8% and 27%, in 2009 and 2019, respectively. A similar patter can be seen in the usage of tablets, only 5% in 2009, and tremendous rise to 19% in 2019.
Other devices became less popular, throughout the time. The usage of desktop computers decreased to just over 10% of people, whilst, in 2009 it was 18%. Indexes, in the remained was a dominant one’s, in 2009, around 30% and 20%, for conventional TV and laptops, respectively. Afterward, the latter mentioned ones declined to just under 5% and 12%, respectively.
