The three pie charts give information about five different kinds of books that were sold over a 40-year period from 1972 to 2012.
It is clear that in 1972, others represented the largest proportion of the present (25%). But this figure declined by 5%, before hitting a trough, with a total of 12% percent of bought books in 2012. The percentage of adult fiction increased through all three time periods, with a low score of 20% in the first chart and then reaching just about half of all charts.
According to the figures, sold biography books made up a small minority of the total. It stood at 20% in 1972 but unfortunately decreased to the point of 8% at the end of the period. Although all the figures were unstable, children’s fiction remained stable at the point of 20%, increasing sometimes but never lowering than 20%.
Overall, while other kinds of books were the most common type to be sold and were in first place in 1972, adult fiction hit the highest point over that of 40 years ago.
