The given pie charts compare the number of students who engaged in a numerous courses of the one adult education center which were offered in 1985 and this year.
Overall, it is discernible that the percentage of students studying modern languages had a bigger share than other courses in 1985, while music appreciation courses were the least. This year, IT overtook modern languages to become a major course that most students took part in, whereas the proportion of students who registered for art has the lowest figure.
Looking specifically at the details, in 1985, modern languages such as Spanish, French and German accounted for nearly a quarter of total students who studied in this center. Following that was fitness and dance course, which was solely 2% less. Cookery, local history and art were the three courses which made up a smaller proportion of 14%, 15% and 17% respectively. A mere students engaging in music appreciation took up the remaining 8% of the center’s members.
This year witnessed a considerable alteration in the course which attracted most students when IT accounted for 27%, the highest percentage compared to other courses. Such dramatic differences were not seen when we compared the figure for students who registered for fitness and dance course. The same proportion of students (22%) were members of this course in both 1985 and this year. There was a slight decrease of 2% in the number of members studying art courses. While cookery lessons made up nearly 20%, modern languages courses saw a significant fall when it went down from 24% to 17%.
