The diagrams display the shares of different categories of wasting discharge in various streets of New York City in 2023. Overall, it is evident that each wasting discharge has distinct parts of the city: Organic in the Bronx and the Manhattan, Plastics in the Brooklyn.
In detail, Organic and Plastics together dominate the wasting discharge in the Bronx, the Manhattan, and the Brooklyn, accounting for a combined 58% (35% and 23%, respectively) in Bronx, and 55% (40% for Organic and 25% for Plastic) in the Manhattan. Moreover, in the Brooklyn, with Organic and Plastic attracting 32% and 35% of the wasting discharge, respectively.
Regarding Paper and Cardboard; Metals, Paper and Cardboard moderate presence in the Bronx (22%) and a significant wasting discharge fraction in the Manhattan (20%). However, the presence in the Brooklyn is minimal, with only two percent of the shares. In contrast, Metals is most prominent in the Brooklyn, capturing 23% of the wasting discharge, with that has a presence int he Bronx (14%) and in the Manhattan (10%).
Lastly, Glass and others wasting discharge account for five percent and a neligible presence (1%) of the wasting discharge in the Bronx, respectively. The Manhattan shows for Glass ten percent and for others wasting discharge no notable presence, in addition, the Brooklyn has only five percent and three percent of wasting discharge, respectively.
