The pie charts illustrate the percentage of Oscar winners by seven differents genres of film in 2003 and 2008.
Overall,most winners received the prizes in thriller and action films while comedy was the least one in both two years.
In 2003,thriller accounted for a half,the biggest percentage but this figure decreased to over a quarter in 2008.The second highest proportion was action films,went up from about 20% in 2003 to just under 25% in 2008.Comedy was the lowest figures,at about 5% and it remained stable throughout two years.
Documentary,romance and science fiction were three categories which had a similar percentage in the pie charts,these types of film saw a slight increase in 2008,at approximately 5% to 10%.Horror films rose slightly from 7% to 10% in 2008
