The proportion of movie stars won Oscar accounted for nearly half of the pie chart with 42 percent while horror and comedy combined only accounted for one tenth.
On the other hand, horror, documentary and science fiction witnessed a remarkable rise in the rate with 10%, 17%, 13% respectively while there was reduction in the Oscar won of thriller and action with 35% and 12%. The number of Oscar champions of both comedy and romance remained stable in 2008.
