The pie charts illustrate the total amounts of electricity all source types produced and renewables in Germany and France in 2009.
Overall, in Germany, conventional thermal was produced the most, while it was nuclear power. Moreover, the largest share is biomass of renewable energy in Germany, whereas the majority renewable energy is hydroelectric which it forms a large part of the diagram.
In terms of all source types, the largest proportion of conventional thermal which accounted for 60% in Germany. While nuclear source rank first accounting for 70% in France. In Germany, nuclear energy large than that of sources of renewables by a narrow margin, with the former and the later being responsible for 23% and 17.4%. However, just 10.3% and 13.7% of total amount formed conventional thermal and renewables energies respectively.
Regarding renewable energy produced, biomass and wind each accounted for a little under 40% in Germany, whereas these renewable energies together are host to roughly 20% in France. There is a significant difference between the renewable energies of hydroelectric which responsible for 80% in second country, however, in Germany, hydroelectric energy is 17.7%. In Germany and France, the lowest proportion of solar accounting for approximately 6% and 1% respectively.
