Two pie charts represent in details of environmental friendly sources of electricity extraction in Germany and France from all types of sources in 2009.
Overall, German use more electricity power than France by 50 billion kWh. The proportion of conventional thermal types exceeds other types of electricity sources in Germany but for France, nuclear power was the most stand out. Turning to renewable sources, Hydroelectric had a highest proportion of the total in France. The opposite is true with German with the same percentage of generated in Biomass and Wind sources.
Regarding to both of the all types pie charts, it is clear that renewable energy was not in used as usual as other types with less than one third of the total. For Germany, conventional thermal generated the most with 59.6 percent but it still less than Nuclear sources used by the French by more than 20 percent.
In terms of renewable energy, geothermal energy was not used by French and German. In stark contrast, Wind and Hydroelectric were the most common generated sources of electricity in both countries. Hydroelectric made up 80.5 percent of the total which is the highest renewable sources of France. On the other hand, for Germany, Biomass and Wind had a similar proportion compared to the total but Biomass was slightly 3 percent more than Wind. Solar were not the dominant sources in both countries but its energy of Germany still generated more than 6 percent of France.
