One of the notable changes in this data is almost half of the Germans surveyed (45%) chose the newspaper as their first source of news while less than a fifth of the Nigerian urban population, about 13%, access their news through this way. Another major difference is that approximately two-thirds of people in Nigeria watch news on TV, whilst the figure in Germany is 30%, which is two times less than in Nigeria. Additionally, listening to the news on the radio is preferred by 22% of people in urban areas in Nigeria than a tenth of people in Germany. In fact, the Internet is commonly used by German citizens with 11%, meanwhile, the Internet is one of the most insignificant figures in Nigeria, with only 1%.
In conclusion, it can be said that the newspaper is the most popular way to obtain news in Germany, while television is one of the favored first news providers for urban areas in Nigeria.
