The pie charts illustrates some factors that lead to the migration to and from UK in 2007. Overall, work related purpose is the most common reasons of this phenomenon, while formal study also influence people a lot of foreigners to UK.
The most influential factor is the definite job which is the reason for 30% of immigrants and 29% of emigrants in the UK. In the emigration pie, the purpose to looking for a job comes in second place with 22 percent and only 4 percent formal study, which is the least effective reason to emigrant. Meanwhile, it is completely different on the immigrant side, with 26% of foreigners going to the UK due to study purposes, making it the second largest proportion. Looking for a job is also common but it is not as high as how it is in the emigration pie with 12%.
The amount of people who migrate because of accompany/ join is approximately the same as 15% and 13% for emigration and immigration, respectively. Besides, 18% of people moving from the UK don’t give out the reason more than twice as the percentage of migration to the UK with only 6%. Lastly are other factors which accounted for 14% of the emigration, more than 3% of the immigrants.
