Overall,it is clear that most people are visiting their friends and family,while in Gatwick Airport the number of people’s purpose is holiday.
According to the first chart,in Gatwick Airport the highest reason why people fly is holidays at 54%,while in other airports the percentage of holidays is less than 40%. The second highest reason why people fly from this airport is visiting friends and family at 30%,which compared to other airports has the lowest percentage of this reason. In Luton Airport the majority of passengers’ purpose is visiting friends and family,accounting for 50%,while in Stansted Airport and Heathrow Airport’s passengers take flights for the same reason,it is between 35% and 50%.
The third reason why people travel by air is business and other purposes. Heathrow Airport has the highest percentage by traveling business reason making up 26%. However,in other airports’ passengers flying for this reason is 13-14%. Moreover, other purposes are comprised 2% in three airports,while in Heathrow Airport is accounting for 4%.
