In 1994, sedans were the most popular car for sales, accounting for approximately 74%. Over the next decade, this figure saw a noticeable decline. As a result, sedans experienced a slight drop to approximately 62%. Nevertheless, this downward trend continued until 2013, when sedans decreased significantly to nearly 51%.
In the beginning, SUVs had the lowest percentage of car sales, accounting for approximately 3%, compared with 19% for other types of new cars. Over the next decade, both figures declined slightly, to around 17% for SUVs and 21% for other types of cars. By the end of the period, SUVs plateaued, whereas other types of cars rose sharply from 21% to 32%
