The presented piw chart illustrates the percentage of the consumption of the bottled water in 8 regions as a mean of worldwide consumption in 1999. The bar chart, on the other hand, demonstrates the change in the consumption in 2001.
Overall, it can be observed from the pie chart that th3 biggest consumer of bottled water was Western Europe. In terms of the growth, Asia experienced the most significant rise in the consumption, while the smallest increase could be seen in Western Europe.
In 1999, Western Europe’s contribution to the global bottled water consumption was 48%, which was almost a half. The three regions, namely Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, showed a variation between 15% and 10%. The remaining Middle East and Africa differentiated by 3% with Asia and the USA (5% and 2 %, respectively).
Turning to the changes in 2001,Asia stood out of other regions with a 14%-growth in the consumption, whereas the proportions of Latin America and New Zealand went up less than Asia’s by almost 2%. Comparing the pairs of Middle East amd Africa with the other two regions which are Australia and the United States, it is noticeable that the former two regions’ rise composed of about 10%, which was more by approximately 2% than that of the latter’s. By contrast to Asia, Western Europe’s increase in the bottled water usage was 7 times less than that of it.
