The given map delineates the changes of the ground floor of a particular building from 1958 to the present day.
Overall, the area witnessed dramatic transformations, changing from an office into an apartment and finally a flower shop. Despite these alterations, the kitchen area stayed unaltered.
From 1958 to 1984, the building served as an office. There was a meeting room located in the top left corner of the map, and a toilet at the bottom-left one, and between them there were offices for assistant and secretaries.
Major changes happened to the layout of the building between 1985 and 2000, as it was converted into an apartment. The previous meeting room was replaced by a living room, whereas the assistant and the secretary’s offices along with the old toilet were removed to make way for a new bathroom and a shower. This was accompaned by the change to the manager’s office and reception area, as they were demolished and substituted by two adjoining bedrooms. Notwithstanding such dramatic changes, the kitchen in the corner stayed unchanged.
In 2001, the area were repurposed into a shop selling flowers. The left hand side from the entrance witnessed several changes, with the living room being turned into an area displaying gift cards, and the bathroom and shower in the previous arrangement being replaced by an area for playing and another for exhibiting flowers. Regarding the right hand side, while the previous two bedrooms were taken down to allow room for a new office room and another place for flower display, the kitchen underwent no changes.
