The layouts illustrate a public park’s earlier infrastructure and current facilities.
Overall, the public park has undergone significant modifications and renovations, resulting in the addition of many facilities, which has increased accessibility and functionality.
To begin with, in 1920, the northern part of Grand Park was connected to Arnold Avenue, and the southern part was connected to Eldon Street. The shape of the park was rectangular. A stunning fountain was located in the center. Additionally, the stage for musicians was situated to the left of the fountain, while on the right side, there was a pond as well as some seats for visitors. The glasshouse was located in the southeast corner near the south entrance.
At present, the previous musicians’ stage has been demolished, and an amphitheater stands in its place. The central fountain has been replaced by a rose garden with some seating areas. The northern area has significantly changed; the rose garden and pond were replaced by a café and children’s play area. The previous glasshouse and southeastern seats have been removed, and a water feature has been added. Furthermore, an underground car park entrance has been installed next to the water feature.
