The maps show the layout of a student accommodation in 2010 and its current look.
Overall, the accommodation used to be a green place, with minimal facilities for students only. However, following the redevelopment, it has become significantly multifunctional, accommodating a wide range of recreational, leisure and educational facilities. Notably, the student accommodation now also serves as a home for a large number of learners, with the construction of more new study-bedrooms.
Back then, the accommodation used to have a relatively simple layout, with limited facilities. Access to the area was from the bottom, left side and upon entering, a hall occupied the heart of the map with a bathroom. To the north side of the bathroom, living room and study-room could be found, while a kitchen was located in the right-hand section of the hall, behind another study-bedroom. Meanwhile, a large study-bedroom was situated in the west and the area was covered with two gardens on both north and south sides.
Since then, however, the student accommodation has undergone a significant makeover. Although, the garden in the top and study-bedroom near the kitchen were not subject to change, the other green area has been cleared to make way for a parking space. The hall has been shrunk to extend the bathroom and a new study-bedroom has been introduced close to the entrance, which has been downsized to accommodate it. The study-bedroom, north of the kitchen, has been shrunk to build another large study-bedroom instead of the living room. Another alteration has been the introduction of a new ensuite bathroom adjacent to the eastern study-bedroom and social area has been added to the kitchen.
