In 2000, Newtown theatre was built to accommodate about 400 with the stage located in the center of the north surrounded by backstage. At the entrance, there is a row of buildings with various functions such as toilets, coasts, tickets, refreshment respectively and a foyer to serve guests. Outside the theatre, the main road runs through Newtown from west to east and a park with a lot of trees to the east of this theatre.
At the moment, Newtown theatre has witnessed a dramatic increase in the number of seats from 400 to 500 with the expansion of the main stage . Meanwhile, the park has been demolished to make room for the arrival of tickets, refreshment, coasts and toilets respectively. Furthermore, the appearance of a new restaurant is seen beside toilets and the number of entrance doors has increased with the relocation to the eastern side, while the main road remains unchanged during the whole period.
