The diagrams depict the layout of Newtown Theater in 2000 and its current design. Overall, there have been notable changes, including the expansion of the main section and the restructuring of all amenities in the theater to increase capacity. Meanwhile, the backstage and the main stage remain unchanged.
In 2000, the Newtown Theater was located next to a park with many trees. At that time, the theater had only one entrance situated in the southern part of the building, leading into a small foyer connected directly to the seating area. On both sides of the entrance were convenience facilities, comprising toilets and coats on the left, a ticket box and refreshments on the right. The movie area had a capacity of 400 seats, and the stage, which was positioned in the northern part of the theater, was relatively small, surrounded by a large backstage.
At present, significant transformations have been made to the theater’s structure. The park has been removed to make room for an expanded foyer, which is now relocated to the eastern side, next to the stage. This area is currently updated with two entrances, giving access to the mentioned amenities, which have been restructured, and a new restaurant constructed to the east of the foyer. Inside the movie area, the number of seats has increased from 400 to 500, and the stage has been enlarged.
