The two plans below shows the maps of the ground floor of a library in 2001 and 2009. Overall, it is clear that the plan was to expand the library and add more sections for books to allow multiple readers, and also provide computers.
The library in 2001, consisted of tables for readers in the central area, which backed the section of the fiction books. To the left, the shelves were divided into two parts, one contained self help and the other history books. The cupboards at the right was selected for newspaper and periodicals and it had also bouquets on either side each on one. just at the entance, there was the librarian’s desk, and in the right bottom corner there were stairs to the first floor.
Regarding the map of 2009, the size was the same but the change was in inside settings. At the entrance, the librarian’s desk was moved little to the left side; similarly, there was also a slight shift in the readers’ table to the left, and computers were added to the right side. The section of fiction books is converted into the children’s book, the newspaper and periodicals, to the film and DVDs. The left section was expanded by adding fiction, kitchen, economics and law books. lastly, The two bouqets on either side other right side shelves were removed.
