The plans illustrate the development of the ground floor of a library between 2001 and 2009.
Overall, a considerable transformation can be witnessed with the rearrangement of the tables, and the provision of some new equipments as well as the types of books.
As can be seen from the plans, the tables used to be placed inside a rectangle area in the middle of the room in 2001, then they are arranged in a line through the ground floor in the plan of the year 2009 and their sizes are double, creating more space to move in the floor. The librarian’s desk is also become smaller and moved to the corner of the floor, near the entrance. The library is also provided with some computers to help it copes with the development of technology and Internet. The genres of the books become more various, from only 3 genres in 2001 to 7 genres in 2009 with the old ones such as fiction, history and self help along with the newly added genres such as kitchen, economics, laws and children’s books. In the plans, the newspaper and pieriodicals shelf is replaced with films and DVDs, and the plants next to them are also removed.
