Overall, there are remarkable changes of the Southwest airport related to the significant increase of the total quantity of gates as well as the introduction of several amenities for serving guests throughout the given timelines.
As can be seen from the maps, it is apparent that the north area of this airport, which is initially equipped with 8 gates, will be enlarged to a total of 18 gates, extending both northwest and northeast. Furthermore, the current walkway located to the left of this space will be converted into 2 new sky trains, which are positioned right at the middle of this area, accordingly promoting passengers’s movement.
Turning to the remaining changes, on the west side right below the two sky trains, there will be spaces for the construction of shopping places. In comparison, even though both the security passport control and customs will remain unchanged throughout the given period, there are some visible alterations when it comes to the south of this airport. The check-in area will be relocated to the opposite side to make room for the construction of a bag drop while the original café will also be moved to the left of the departures. Besides that, in terms of the east space, there will be the establishments of a new café together with an ATM on the right-hand side, adjacent to a car hire service. What is more, the former departures, which is centrally located will be divided into two separated sections and the arrivals will exhibit the same pattern after being refurbished.
