The plans illustrate the current layout of Southwest Airport and the proposed changes following its redevelopment next year.
Overall, the airport will undergo significant expansion. The number of gates will more than double, and several new facilities will be added, including shops, a sky train, and extra passenger services, making the airport more modern and convenient.
At present, the airport has eight gates (1-8) connected by a single walkway. The departures and arrivals areas are located at the bottom of the plan, with security and passport control in the departures section and passport control and customs in arrivals. There is a check-in area and a café in departures, but facilities are relatively limited.
After redevelopment, the airport will expand to 18 gates arranged along a Y-shaped concourse. A sky train will replace the current walkway to transport passengers to the gates. In addition, shops will be introduced near the security area, and new features such as a bag drop, ATM, café in arrivals, and car hire service will be provided. Overall, the redesigned airport will offer greater capacity and improved passenger amenities.
