The two maps illustrate how a century of redevelopment has reshaped the layout of the mining town from the past to the today.
Overall, it is evident that the town has undergone significant transformations in terms of recreation facilities, and commercial expansion with the addition of new features such as museum, picnic area, cafe,children’s playground, and driving truck track. of particular note is there number of facilities which stayed the more or less the same.
In the past, there was an office on the left hand side of the town which removed to make way for a new museum, just below it the staff’s changing room could be seen which also cleared from its space. What could be seen in the middle of the town was a medical room which replaced with a new cafe. Notably, a driving truck track had been set up on the right side of the town, thereby replacing the former waste pit 1 and 2. The number of entertainment features also added such as children’s playground and picnic ares on the south-west section in the corner of the town. Regardless of these transfornations,the parking lot and mine entrance (for workers)retained in their initial form.
