The following diagram illustrates the manufacturing steps of Pu-Erh Raw Tea and Ripe Tea.
It is clear that, the first three stagTeaes are the same in both processes which begin with frying tea leaves to inactivate enzymes and end with producing ripe and raw tea . Both processes consist of five distinct stages, and the two processes are entirely man-made.
The production of both types of tea begins with frying tea leaves. Then, the pan fried leaves are rolled and dried under the sun on a mat to make loose Raw Tea which is ready to be turned into either ripe tea or raw tea. To make Pu-erh Ripe Tea, the loose Raw Tea is fermented by mold to make it into Ripe Tea. Finally, the loose Ripe Tea is compressed to make it into Ripe Pu-erh Tea.
To make Pu-erh Raw Tea, the Loose Raw Tea is compressed and formed into Pu-erh Raw Tea which is left to age by storage and formed into Raw Pu-erh Tea.
