The diagram illustrates the process of producing recycled paper, from the collection of used paper to the manufacture of new paper. Overall, the process consists of four main stages: making pulp, filtering, cleaning, and producing recycled paper.
First, used paper is carried on a conveyor belt and mixed with water and chemicals in order to create pulp. This initial stage transforms waste paper into a soft and uniform material.
Next, the pulp goes through a filtering stage. During this phase, solid impurities are removed to obtain filtered pulp. After that, the pulp is cleaned further by adding water and soap. An air pump is also used to eliminate the ink from the mixture.
Finally, the clean pulp is transferred to a machine equipped with heated rollers. Excess water is removed while the pulp is dried and compressed. At the end of the process, recycled paper is produced and ready to be reused.
Compared with the earlier stages, which mainly focus on transforming and purifying the pulp, the final stage concentrates on drying and shaping the recycled paper.
