The pie charts above illustrate the proportion of different kinds of the consumption of energy in the UK in 2000 and 2010. The types of energy are categorized into coal, gas, petrol, solar and other.
Overall, it can be seen from the pie charts that, the proportions of coal consumption were the largest in two years given with figure of 30.0% and 31.0%, respectively.
It is apparent that, the consumption of coal was responsible for 30.0% which was the largest proportion of energy consumption in 2010. Follwed by gas and petrol which figured of 29.5% and 29.0% respectively. However, the proportion of solar energy was less which occupied at 6.5% compared with each other.
In the same way, in 2010, the proportion of coal consumption slightly increased from 30.0% to 31.0%, so it remained the largest proportion of energy consumption. In addition, the consumption of gas has an unnoticeable decrease. It can be seen from 29.5% to 30.0%. Although, the petrol dramatically went down from 29.0% to 20.0%. Eventually, the proportion of solar energy remained less compared with each other.
