Overall, while the figures for hotels and rented apartment witnessed an upward trend, the reverse pattern was recorded in that of camping. Additionally, staying with family made up the highest percentage throughout the examined period.
In detail, after rising from 15% in 1988 to 22% in 1998, the proportion of choosing to stay at hotels remained the status quo until 2008. Similarly, starting at a modest percentage, the figure for renting aparting rose marginally by 4% in 1998. This proportion then recorded a two-fold growth in the next 10 years.
In constract, more than a half of the number of visitors staying with family was recorded in the initial year. This figure registered a steady fall to 44% in 2008 despite a neglectable increase by 2% in 1998. Camping also began at about a fourth in 1988 then fell by half in the next decade. This figure eventually saw a small decrease by 1%, accounting for the smallest proportion.
