The USA had a marked consumption of water, with more than 350 litres per family; a similar pattern was observed in Canada, as the second water-consuming country, with a figure reaching about 320 litres per household. The remaining three states consumed the least, with no more than 300 litres each.
In terms of the total cost, France allocated a significant portion of its expenditure on water use, with 2.1 dollars per cubic metre. Germany spent 1.35 dollars per cubic metre, while Italy only spent 0.7dollars /m3. By contrast, the USA was the sole country that had a lower figure with only 0.01 7dollars /m3, representing the lowest spending nation among all states.
