The bar chart illustrates the amount of water consumed in the US, Canada, Italy, France and Germany, as well as the cost of water in each country. Overall, the US recorded the highest water usage, while Germany had the lowest. In contrast, France had the most expensive water, whereas the US showed an exceptionally low price.
In terms of daily water consumption, Americans used slightly above 350 litres per person, making them the largest consumers. This figure was around 30 litres higher than that of Canada. Italy followed with approximately 300 litres, while France recorded a noticeably lower amount at about 250 litres. Germany had the smallest consumption level, at just 220 litres per person per day.
Turning to the cost of water, France paid the highest price, at $2.1 per cubic metre, with Germany ranking second at $1.35. Italy and Canada had significantly cheaper water, at $0.7 and $0.31 respectively. By far the lowest cost was observed in the US, where water was almost free at only $0.01 per cubic metre
