Overall, it is clear that there is a huge difference between the time spent by women and men. Leisure activities are dominated by men, as they spend more time watching TV and videos and listening to the radio, in addition to playing sports, while women spend more time on reading activities. Moreover, in 2008, household activities were also dominated by women, while men spent less time doing such tasks.
In 2008, men spent around 137 minutes per day watching TV or listening to the radio, and 15 minutes playing sports, while women only spent 11 minutes on the latter and 118 minutes watching TV. However, women spent approximately 19 minutes per day more than men on reading activities.
On the other hand, activities such as cooking and washing, which were part of household tasks, women spent around 78 minutes on them and 38 minutes doing shopping, while men did not exceed 40 minutes in each task. Additionally, women used to spend around 30 minutes each day washing and ironing clothes. Meanwhile, repairing activities were dominated by men, as they used to spend around 20 minutes, while women spent only 10 minutes on average.
