The table and chart compare various leisure and household activities undertaken by women and men in England. Overall, it is evident that the majority of men enjoy their leisure time more than women, who predominantly engage in household tasks.
Starting with the table, men spend an average of 137 minutes on activities such as watching TV, videos, and listening to the radio. They follow this with reading and sports, dedicating 18 and 15 minutes to these activities, respectively. In contrast, women spend only 118 minutes on TV, video, and radio activities. However, they invest 19 minutes in reading, making it the only leisure activity where they exceed men in terms of time spent.
Turning to the chart, we observe three household activities: cooking and washing, which take nearly 80 minutes and are completed by men in about half that time. Additionally, women spend 35 minutes shopping, while washing and ironing clothes takes them around 30 minutes each. However, in repair activities, men dominate by completing these tasks in 20 minutes, almost double the time spent by women.
